Samsung has collaborated with the European Space Agency to launch a new watch face called Galaxy Time for Galaxy Watches, allowing users to obtain real-time information about the solar system, including the individual rhythms of neighboring planets. The watch face provides information about the eight planets rotating around the sun, their distances from Earth or the Sun, number of moons, planetary seasons, and exact positions in the solar system. Compatible with Galaxy Watch 4 series or newer, Galaxy Time is available on the Google Play Store and offers a high level of precision in displaying time on different planets.
Samsung is considering using Micro LED panels for future smartwatches, according to a press release. The company is rumored to be launching a 'Galaxy Watch Ultra' model, which would be its first smartwatch to feature a Micro LED screen. Micro LED screens offer OLED-like pure blacks and LCD-like brightness without suffering from burn-in issues. While this technology could improve picture quality and sunlight legibility, it is also expected to come with a high price tag, similar to Samsung's Micro LED TVs.
Samsung has launched its eco-friendly accessory lineup, 'Samsung Eco-Friends', which includes smartphone cases and watch straps made from recycled plastics and vegan leather. The accessories will be available in over 40 countries and feature popular artworks from artists and K-Pop stars. Customers can purchase a Flipsuit card to apply a matching theme to their smartphones, and the accessories are compatible with various Samsung products.
Samsung has announced the addition of three new apps to its Wear OS-based Galaxy Watches, including Samsung Wallet for storing cards and making payments, Thermo Check for measuring temperature without physical contact, and WhatsApp for easier access to contacts and communication. These apps will be available on various models of Galaxy Watches, with more apps expected to be released in the future.
