Measles exposure alert in Fairfax County after adult case
Eight Virginians have measles in 2026, including an adult in Fairfax County who recently traveled internationally and may have exposed others. Exposure sites include Giant Food in Lorton and Inova GoHealth Urgent Care Lorton and Inova HealthPlex Lorton ER on Feb. 11–14. Health officials urge those not fully vaccinated to monitor for symptoms (rash, fever, runny nose, cough) for up to 21 days and contact their local health department; protection comes from two doses of the MMR vaccine or being born before 1957.
