Canadian Man Regains Sight After 20 Years with Tooth-Implant Eye Surgery
Brent Chapman, a 34-year-old Canadian, became the first in his country to receive a rare tooth-in-eye prosthetic, an osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis, which has restored his vision after two decades of blindness caused by severe corneal burns. The procedure involves implanting his own tooth with a fitted lens, allowing him to see clearly again, and is considered a last resort when other treatments have failed.
