Parliament suspends 14 MPs, sparks political controversy
The suspension of DMK MP SR Parthiban from the Lok Sabha has been revoked after the government clarified that it was a case of mistaken identity. Parthiban's name was withdrawn from the list of suspended members as he was not present in the Lok Sabha when the disruption occurred. A total of 13 MPs were initially suspended, but one member was suspended erroneously and has now been excluded. The suspension of other opposition MPs, including five Congress members and nine more from different parties, still stands. Additionally, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien was suspended from the upper house for "unruly" conduct. The suspensions came after a security breach in the Lok Sabha chamber.
