Trader Joe's Recalls Organic Basil Due to Salmonella Outbreak

Trader Joe's has recalled Infinite Herbs-brand organic basil sold in 29 states and Washington, D.C. after it was linked to 12 cases of salmonella infection in seven states. The product was sold between Feb. 1 and April 6 and has been removed from shelves. Customers are advised to discard the basil or return it for a refund. The CDC recommends not consuming the basil and cleaning all surfaces it touched. Symptoms of salmonella infection can include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps, and those affected should contact a doctor. The federal investigation into the outbreak is ongoing, with the FDA still searching for additional cases and sources of salmonella.
