Germany pledges €2.7 billion military aid to Ukraine.

Germany has promised Ukraine a €2.7 billion ($2.95 billion) military aid package, including 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 30 Leopard-1 tanks, and four IRIS-T-SLM air defense systems. The package is Germany's biggest yet to Ukraine and also includes 15 Gepard anti-aircraft tanks, 200 reconnaissance drones, anti-aircraft ammunition, additional artillery ammunition, and more than 200 armored combat and logistics vehicles. The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is due to visit Germany soon and will be awarded the prestigious Charlemagne Prize in the German city of Aachen on Sunday.
