The ad agency behind the controversial Bud Light campaign featuring transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney won the ad industry's top award at the Cannes Lions Festival. Marcel Marcondes, the top executive of Bud Light's parent company AB InBev, was honored with the Creative Marketer of the Year award. While opinions on the company accepting the award were mixed, Marcondes labeled the partnership with Mulvaney a "wake-up call" for the industry after consumers boycotted the brand, making it lose the title of best-selling beer in America.
