SpaceX has released surreal footage of the reusable rocket fairing reentering Earth's atmosphere at high speed during its recent Falcon Heavy mission, which deployed three payloads including the ViaSat 3 Americas broadband communications satellite. The fairings reentered the atmosphere greater than 15x the speed of sound, creating a large trail of plasma in its wake. SpaceX aims to catch the fairings in giant nets on ships waiting in the ocean for refurbishment and reuse in future rocket flights.
