"NASA's Probe Chute Failure Traced to Mislabelled Wires"

NASA's OSIRIS-REx sample return capsule successfully landed on Earth, despite a parachute failure caused by a labeling error. The label "main" was mistakenly used for both the device that deployed the drogue chute and the pyrotechnic charge used to cut its line. As a result, the parachute was cut away prematurely, but the main parachute was sturdy enough to handle the faster-than-expected deployment velocity, allowing the capsule to land safely and the samples to be recovered.
