Mercury Surprisingly Proximity to Neptune Discovered

Contrary to popular belief, the closest planet to Earth is not Venus or Mars, but Mercury. A team of scientists ran a simulation tracking the distance between each pair of planets over 10,000 years and found that, on average, Mercury was the closest planet to all others in the Solar System. This challenges the commonly disseminated information about the average distance between planets and highlights the importance of reevaluating assumptions in scientific knowledge.
