Last Chance to Join NASA's Europa Clipper Mission

NASA's Europa Clipper spacecraft is offering the public the opportunity to have their names stenciled onto a microchip that will ride aboard the spacecraft as it explores Jupiter's moon Europa. The "Message in a Bottle" campaign will close on December 31, 2023, and so far, about 700,000 names have been submitted. The microchip, along with a metal plate engraved with a poem by U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón, will be attached to the spacecraft's exterior, serving as a message in a bottle during its close flybys of Europa. The mission aims to gather data on Europa's subsurface ocean, icy crust, and atmosphere to determine its potential for supporting life.
