Solar Flares Cause Nationwide Radio Signal Outage in US

Two massive solar flares erupted from the Sun, causing radio signal disruptions across the United States. The first flare, an X1.6 event, occurred on August 5, followed by an X1.5 flare on August 7. While harmful radiation from the flares cannot affect humans on the ground, they can disturb the atmosphere where GPS and communication signals travel.
