A skyscraper-sized asteroid will safely pass within 1.7 million miles of Earth on Friday, with no chance of impact. Estimated to be between 690 and 1,575 feet across, the asteroid, designated as 2008 OS7, was discovered in 2008 and won't return until 2032, when it will be much more distant.
