Scientists uncover mechanism behind grey hair color change.

Scientists have discovered that stem cells become immobile in hair follicles as we age, resulting in the loss of pigment cells and the greying of hair. The study, conducted on mice, found that the number of hair follicles with immobile stem cells increased from 15% in young hair to over 50% in older hair. The researchers believe that this discovery could lead to treatments that restore mobility to these stem cells and prevent or reverse greying hair in humans.
