Moon's 'Earthshine' Illuminates Pleiades in Spectacular Celestial Display

The moon will be visible glowing with "earthshine" near the Pleiades star cluster on July 13 and 14. Earthshine is a phenomenon where sunlight reflects off the Earth's surface onto the moon, causing the unlit part of the moon to appear as a pale disk in the bright crescent. This celestial show can be observed in the pre-dawn skies.
