Venus, known as the "Morning Star," is currently visible in the early morning sky, rising before dawn. It is getting brighter and will reach its greatest brilliance on September 19th. Venus can be seen through the daytime sky as a tiny white speck against the blue backdrop. Its greatest illuminated extent coincides with its greatest brilliancy, displaying a large, brilliant, beautiful crescent that waxes in phase throughout September. Venus will also be close to the star Regulus and the planet Mercury in the coming weeks.
