California Gasoline Prices Soar, Relief May Be on the Horizon

Gasoline prices in California have surged, with the average price reaching $6.08 per gallon, up 15% in the past month. The high prices are due to a combination of increased crude oil costs and refinery disruptions, which have limited supply. California's strict regulations on gasoline blends for air quality have also contributed to the price increase. However, Governor Gavin Newsom has issued an order allowing refineries to produce a cheaper winter-blend of gasoline earlier than usual, which is expected to increase supply and lower prices by about 50 cents per gallon by the end of October.
