Microsoft has updated its Copilot Vision AI for Windows Insiders, allowing it to see and analyze everything on your screen, including entire desktops and specific app windows, to provide insights, assistance, and guidance across various tasks.
Microsoft is rolling out a new feature for Windows Insiders that allows Android phones running Android 9.0 or newer and the Link to Windows app version 1.24012* or later to be used as webcams for Windows 11 PCs, enabling wireless use for any video application. The feature is currently only available to Windows Insiders and needs to be enabled in settings.
Windows Photos is receiving a feature update that includes content and text recognition, as well as support for motion photos taken on Google and Samsung devices. Users will be able to search for specific content in their photos backed up to OneDrive, such as searching for "beach" to find beach-related images. The Photos app will also support viewing the video portion of motion photos. Additionally, the Windows Snipping Tool will have text recognition capabilities and a privacy feature to redact sensitive information. These features are currently available to Windows Insiders.
Microsoft is testing a background removal tool in Paint, which allows users to remove an image's background with a single click. The feature is currently being rolled out to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels. This addition would make Paint more useful as users currently have to rely on third-party apps for background removal. Microsoft is also reportedly testing a text-to-image generator within Paint.
