"Severe Storms Cause Tornadoes and Power Outages in Chicago Suburbs"
Severe thunderstorms swept through the Chicago area, bringing damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes, with reports of tornadoes touching down in several areas. The storms caused power outages, commuter delays, and a brief ground stop at O’Hare International Airport. A wind advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday, with temperatures expected to drop into the 40s and as low as 23 degrees overnight, followed by light snow in the morning. Despite the recent unseasonably warm weather, this February is on track to potentially become Chicago’s warmest February in recorded history.
