Rocket Lab successfully launched the first suborbital variant of its Electron vehicle, called Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron (HASTE), from Wallops Island, Virginia. Rocket Lab is set to launch its second Electron mission from Wallops Island, Virginia, tonight after two weather-related delays. The launch window is from 6-8 p.m. and should be visible to residents along much of the East Coast, including the D.C. area. The mission is a dedicated launch for Capella Space and will deliver two Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites to orbit.
