The Washington State Ferry Walla Walla ran aground on a Bainbridge Island beach in Rich Passage due to a generator failure, but no injuries were reported. The 124-car Issaquah ferry will replace the Walla Walla to start Sunday’s Bremerton-Seattle service. Passengers with vehicles onboard the vessel will retrieve them in Bremerton. Kitsap Transit fast ferries were called to assist with evacuating passengers to Bremerton. The vessel is expected to be towed back to Bremerton after floating off the beach.
