
Washington State Ferry with 600 passengers runs aground near Bainbridge Island.
The Walla Walla passenger ferry carrying 596 passengers and 15 crew members ran aground near Bainbridge Island west of Seattle on Saturday due to a generator failure, according to Washington State Ferries. There were no reports of injuries or contamination. Passengers were initially kept onboard, but Kitsap Transit began taking others off the boat around 8 p.m. The Seattle-Bremerton route was out of service until further notice.
