Uncle Giuseppe's Replaces Greenvale Stop & Shop Amid 32 Nationwide Closures

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace will replace the closing Stop & Shop in Greenvale, opening a new 52,000-square-foot store in early 2026. The high-end Italian grocer, which has 11 stores in New York and New Jersey, plans to expand to 20 locations by 2029, targeting areas from Connecticut to Pennsylvania. The new Greenvale store will employ about 240 workers and is expected to perform well despite Stop & Shop's previous struggles in the location.
