Apple and Amkor join forces to boost US chip manufacturing and packaging

Apple has announced an expanded partnership with Amkor for advanced silicon packaging in the U.S. Apple will be the first and largest customer of Amkor's new manufacturing and packaging facility in Arizona, where Apple silicon produced at the nearby TSMC fab will be packaged. The collaboration is part of Apple's commitment to American manufacturing and its $430 billion investment in the U.S. economy over five years. Amkor will invest around $2 billion in the project and employ over 2,000 people upon completion.
