Santa Ana protest leaves man blind after federal crowd-control projectile
A protest outside a Santa Ana federal immigration building over the Minneapolis shooting escalated when a federal officer fired a crowd-control projectile at close range, injuring 21-year-old Kaden Rummler who lost sight in his left eye and underwent extensive surgery; fellow demonstrators and family say he is permanently blind in that eye, while DHS officials described the scene as violent and two protesters were arrested for assault on a federal officer and disorderly conduct.
