Hit-and-run drivers targeting children spark concerns and arrests in multiple cities

Santa Ana police have arrested an 18-year-old woman, Madeline Ortiz, for a hit-and-run incident where she struck and injured a 12-year-old girl who was walking to school. The driver fled the scene but was later found at a residence, and the blue four-door sedan involved in the collision was recovered. The child was initially in critical condition but has since been listed as stable.
