Marjorie Taylor Greene Opposes Educating Her Staff, Mocked for Comments to CDC Chair
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) refused an offer from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky to clarify the reporting procedure on COVID-19 vaccines for Greene’s team, saying she didn’t want her staff educated. During a House committee hearing, Greene baselessly suggested that an inordinate amount of Americans died from the shots and suffered miscarriages and stillbirths, using data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Walensky kept her cool and noted that VAERS includes any adverse event that happened to someone after they received a vaccine, including being hit by a truck. Walensky announced her resignation in May, and her last day will be June 30.
