German translator PaulFelixKelly obtained a prototype Nintendo Switch unit containing early menu mockups, revealing colorful and chaotic designs reminiscent of the Wii U's menu. The mockups, dated from 2015, feature game icons from the Wii U and 3DS, including lesser-known Nintendo characters. Additionally, design concepts for the Nintendo NX, which later became the Switch, were also found, showing minimal differences from the final product. While the colorful mockups are intriguing, Nintendo ultimately opted for a cleaner design.
