Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the Adamawa State governorship election with 430,861 votes, defeating Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani of the All Progressives Congress who had 398,788 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called for the investigation and prosecution of its Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Adamawa, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, who had earlier declared Binani the winner before being overruled by INEC headquarters in Abuja and subsequently suspended.
