Atari is releasing a new platformer game called Mr. Run and Jump for vintage Atari consoles in cartridge form, complete with a box and instruction manual. Preorders for the cartridge begin on July 31 for $59.99. This is the first 2600 cartridge launch for a new Atari title since 1990. Atari will release a limited-edition cartridge of Mr. Run and Jump, an action platformer game, for the Atari 2600 console, marking the first new 2600 cartridge game in over 30 years. The cartridge features 80 new screens across six different worlds and a unique scoring system. The game will also be released on various modern consoles and PC in 2023. The cartridges are up for pre-order on Atari's website for $60 and are designed to operate on older hardware.
Atari is bringing Graphite Lab and Heavy Horse Games' action-platformer, Mr. Run and Jump, to Switch this summer. Players will control the titular character, a fluorescent stick man, on a journey through a neon-soaked world to defeat the evil Void and find his missing dog, Leap. The game features dozens of unique levels, devious enemies, and precise controls, reminiscent of the gravity-shifting platformer VVVVVV. No official release date has been announced yet.
