New Democracy secures second term in historic Greek election win.

Greece's conservative New Democracy party, led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has won an outright majority in the country's parliamentary elections, securing 158 seats in the 300-seat parliament. The left-wing Syriza party lagged behind with only 47 seats. Far-right parties also made gains, with four fringe parties, mainly from the far-right, managing to top the 3% threshold to make it into parliament. The election outcome is considered market-friendly and puts Greece firmly on track to regain an investment-grade rating towards the end of the year.
