Serbia's Vučić stands firm: No military intervention in Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has stated that Serbia will not send military forces into Kosovo, despite recent tensions between the two countries. This comes after Kosovo's President, Hashim Thaçi, accused Serbia of planning to send troops into the region. Vučić emphasized that Serbia is committed to maintaining peace and stability in the Balkans and will continue to pursue diplomatic solutions to resolve the ongoing conflict between Serbia and Kosovo.

Sudan ceasefire extension fails to halt fighting.

Sudan's rival military forces have accused each other of fresh violations of a ceasefire as their deadly conflict rumbled on for a third week despite warnings of a slide towards civil war. Both sides said a formal ceasefire agreement that was due to expire at midnight on Sunday would be extended for a further 72 hours. The conflict has sent tens of thousands of people fleeing across Sudan’s borders and prompted warnings that the country could disintegrate, destabilising a volatile region and prompting foreign governments to scramble to evacuate their nationals.

2.5 tons of natural uranium missing in Libya, UN watchdog confirms

Military forces in eastern Libya have recovered a stockpile of uranium that was declared missing by the International Atomic Energy Agency. The barrels, containing roughly 2.5 tons of natural uranium, were found several miles from the warehouse where they were previously stored. The IAEA said that its inspectors discovered on Tuesday that 10 drums of natural uranium were missing when they visited an unnamed site outside Libyan government control. The agency added that the uranium could pose "a radiological risk, as well as nuclear security concerns."
