Parkland victim's father arrested during gun violence hearing protest.
Manuel Oliver, father of a Parkland shooting victim, was arrested during a House hearing on gun laws after he and his wife disrupted the proceedings by shouting at lawmakers. Oliver received a citation arrest and was not jailed. His son, Joaquin, was one of 17 people killed in the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The Olivers expressed their frustration with lawmakers during the hearing, leading to Manuel Oliver's arrest. Gun control activists chanted in the hallway as Capitol Police restrained Oliver.
