House GOP Launches Investigation into Granholm's EV Trip
The House Oversight and Accountability Committee is launching an investigation into Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm's recent EV promotion trip, during which her staff allegedly blocked off an EV charging station. The committee has requested documents and communications related to the trip. The incident in question occurred in Georgia, where a family had to call the police after their access to the charger was blocked. Granholm acknowledged the "poor judgment" of her team and assured that it would not happen again. The committee's letter also criticizes the Biden administration's efforts to expand EV use, invoking the recent strike by the United Auto Workers.
