Rochester Cannabis Shop Raided: Owner Challenges Office of Cannabis Management

A cannabis shop in Rochester, New York, called Triclomes, LLC, was raided by the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) for allegedly selling THC products without the proper license. The owner, John Brown, claims that the state overstepped its authority during the raid and plans to fight it in court. Surveillance video shows OCM members confiscating products without testing or counting them. Brown estimates that between $1 million and $2 million worth of assets were seized. The state argues that Triclomes and other shops raided in recent months do not have permission to sell THC products to recreational-use customers.

Ripple Secures In-Principle Payments License in Singapore

Ripple has obtained in-principle approval for a Major Payments Institution License from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, allowing its Singapore branch to offer regulated digital payment token products and services and further scale its customers' use of its crypto-enabled On-Demand Liquidity platform. Ripple's Singapore office saw a 50% YoY increase in headcount, hiring across key functions such as business development, compliance, finance, legal, and sales as it ramps up its presence in the country. MAS has approved 190 Major Payment Institution licenses and 11 Digital Payment Token Service licenses so far.
