"Countdown Begins: Europe's Decision on Space Launch Restart Imminent"

European space officials are facing crucial timing decisions in the coming weeks regarding the return to flight of Europe's flagship space launchers. The inaugural launch of the Ariane 6 has been delayed until next year, while the Vega C's return to service in 2023 has been hampered by a failed test. Virgin Orbit's Assets Sold for $17 Million in Bankruptcy Court Bid

The UK government has no plans to acquire launch company Virgin Orbit, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States on April 4. The company conducted the first orbital launch attempt from UK soil in January, but a problem with the upper stage engine on the company’s LauncherOne rocket prevented it from reaching orbit. The company is nearing the end of a bankruptcy sale process, with final bids due May 19.
