An Israeli hacker group called Gonjeshke Darande, also known as Predatory Sparrow, has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack that disrupted operations at nearly 70% of gas stations in Iran. The group stated that the attack was in response to "the aggression of the Islamic Republic and its proxies in the region." They warned of further actions and stated that the cyberattack was conducted in a controlled manner to limit damage to emergency services. This is not the first time the group has targeted Iran, as they previously hacked a steel company and carried out another cyberattack on Iran's fuel distribution network. The Israeli government has not commented on Iran's claims. Iranian officials have attributed the disruptions to a "software problem" that is being fixed.
