At least 30 people have been killed and over two dozen injured in a bus accident in Indian-administered Kashmir. The bus, carrying 42 passengers, slid off a mountain road and rolled down a steep slope onto another road in the Doda area. The cause of the accident is still unknown, but it is believed to be due to the driver's negligence. Rescue operations are underway, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. Deadly Gunfights in Kashmir Claim Lives of Security Officers and Rebels

Four Indian security forces and two rebels were killed in separate gunfights in Indian-administered Kashmir. Three security officers were killed in an ongoing gun battle with rebels in Anantnag district, while another soldier and two rebels were killed in a separate gunfight in Rajouri district. The gunfights highlight the ongoing violence in the region despite claims of normalcy by the Indian government. Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan, both of whom claim the region in its entirety and have fought over it for decades.
