A collision involving a cement truck and at least one other vehicle caused a fire and serious injuries on I-670 in downtown Kansas City. The interstate is closed in both directions, causing a growing backup of traffic. The extent of the injuries and the cause of the collision are not yet known.

A woman was found shot inside a car on I-670 in Kansas City, leading to the closure of several portions of the interstate for three hours. Mammoth Sports Construction has unveiled a stadium design for the Kansas City Royals that would stretch over I-670 and sit on the site of the old Kansas City Star printing pavilion. The design incorporates recycled copper from the KC Star building, a brick facade inspired by the West Bottoms stockyards, a curved seating bowl preserving the present seating structure of Kaufman Stadium, and a U-shaped section design inspired by Fenway Park and Camden Yards. The Royals have narrowed their focus to a handful of locations for the downtown facility.
