"USS Carney and French Warship Aid Burning Tanker After Houthi Missile Attack"
The USS Carney and a French warship assisted a burning oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden after it was hit by a Houthi anti-ship ballistic missile, preventing a potential disaster involving liquid hydrogen. The attack on the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker, M/V Marlin Luanda, marked the 38th such incident by the Houthis in the region since November 19. The U.S. has responded with self-defense actions, including intercepting Houthi missiles, amid escalating tensions linked to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
