Intel's AI Chip Strategy Shifts with Aurora genAI and Zettascale Partnership.
Intel has revealed details about its upcoming Falcon Shores chip for artificial intelligence (AI) computing, which will have 288 gigabytes of memory and support 8-bit floating point computation. The chip is set to be released in 2025 as part of Intel's strategy shift to compete against Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices. Intel's previous competitor to Nvidia, Ponte Vecchio, suffered years of delays, leaving Intel with essentially no market share in the AI chip market.
