Stunning Photo Reveals 1900 Glowing Galaxies in the Night Sky

Astrophotographer Miguel Claro captured a stunning image of the Virgo Cluster, a collection of galaxies located in the constellation of Virgo, showing more than 1,890 galaxies at a distance of 48 million light-years away from Earth. The image was captured over the course of 11 nights at Portugal's Alqueva Observatory and features galaxies immersed in star-forming clouds. The Virgo Cluster forms the heart of the larger Virgo Supercluster, which includes our own Milky Way galaxy.
