The Milwaukee Bucks have acquired veteran combo guard Patrick Beverley from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for point guard Cam Payne and a 2027 second-round pick. Beverley, known for his defensive prowess, brings experience and perimeter defense to the Bucks, while Payne, who struggled defensively, moves to the Sixers. The trade suggests the Bucks may be seeking additional point guard depth as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
The Phoenix Suns have made several moves, trading guard Cam Payne to the San Antonio Spurs along with a second-round pick and cash, while also signing 7-foot-2 center Bol Bol from the Orlando Magic to a one-year deal. Additionally, the Suns acquired three future second-round picks from the Magic in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick swap. The Suns have been actively replenishing their future draft assets, including sending Isaiah Todd to the Memphis Grizzlies and acquiring additional picks from the Spurs. Payne averaged 10.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game for the Suns last season.
The Phoenix Suns are no strangers to adversity, and they will have to overcome yet another obstacle with Chris Paul's injury. However, the team has leaders on and off the court, including Devin Booker and head coach Monty Williams. Williams plans to put more offensive-minded players on the court to take some of the pressure off of Booker and Kevin Durant. Backup point guard Cam Payne could be starting in place of Paul and has shown he can handle the role in the past. Payne is ready to step up and contribute to the team's success.
Phoenix Suns center Bismack Biyombo and point guard Cam Payne were both ruled out for the rest of Friday’s matchup in Los Angeles against the Lakers due to injuries. Biyombo suffered a knee-to-knee collision with Anthony Davis, while Payne took a tough fall on his lower back. The Suns lost the game 121-107 and sat Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton after playing the night before.
