
Chris Paul retires after a 21-year NBA journey
Chris Paul, 40, announced his retirement after a 21-year NBA career, a 12-time All-Star and 2006 Rookie of the Year who also won Olympic gold in 2008 and 2012. His journey took him from the Hornets to the Rockets, Clippers, Thunder, Suns, and Warriors; he never won an NBA title, coming closest with the Suns in 2021. He leaves as second in league history in both assists (12,552) and steals (2,728) and had not played since December after being traded to Toronto and released by the Raptors.
