"Google Introduces Generative AI Search Experience"

Google has launched an experimental version of Search called Search Generative Experience (SGE), which uses AI to answer questions directly on the Google Search webpage. SGE is not yet open to the public and requires signing up to Google's Search Labs, which is currently available only to a limited number of people in the US and in English only. "Google's Bard AI: The Future of Pixel Devices?"

Google may soon launch a new feature called "Magic Compose" for Google Messages that uses generative AI to help users rewrite or compose messages in different styles. The feature will apparently allow users to get draft suggestions and rewritten draft suggestions. It sounds similar to SwiftKey's new Bing AI integration, which also rewrites text based on chosen styles. However, it doesn't look like Google is interested in integrating Bard chat into Messages like Microsoft does with SwiftKey, although it's possible Bard could come to Android in some shape or form in the future.

Microsoft's SwiftKey Keyboard Gets AI Boost with Bing Update.

Microsoft has disabled the SwiftKey support forums following an update that added a button for Bing AI, which offers access to a chatbot that can find answers from the web, provide tone suggestions, and chat. Some users speculate that Microsoft removed the forums to avoid backlash from the SwiftKey userbase about the addition of this new Bing AI button and functionality. Microsoft wants its Bing AI to be as widely accessible as possible and beat the popularity contest against ChatGPT and other conversational AIs. Adding this feature to SwiftKey should give Bing wider exposure.

Breaking Google Bard and Bing AI: Our Attempt.

Google's Bard and Microsoft's Bing AI are the current frontrunners in the generative AI race, but both are highly experimental and flawed. In a test to see which chatbot is better at delivering facts, replacing humans at their job, and participating in existential debates, both chatbots tended to abstain from conversations that took accusatory turns or asked about human feelings like love. As we continue to explore the capabilities and limits of generative AI, it's important to keep in mind the ethics and potential harm that could happen if companies carelessly chase trends without pausing to think.
