"Scientists Challenge Textbook Claims on Life's Origin"
A recently-published study by an international team of scientists challenges the prevailing scientific theory on the origin of life on Earth. The study, based on the analysis of ancient rock samples, suggests that the widely-accepted belief that an influx of oxygen into Earth's oceans accelerated the evolution of complex life forms is likely incorrect. Instead, the researchers found that there was probably less oxygen in Earth's oceans during the Precambrian Avalon explosion than previously thought. This discovery calls for a revision of science textbooks and a rethinking of the factors that controlled the development of life on Earth.
