Nasa denies responsibility for flash over Kyiv.

A bright flash observed in the sky over Kyiv generated much speculation, with officials initially suspecting it was a Nasa satellite falling to Earth. However, Nasa has confirmed that the satellite in question, RHESSI, was still in orbit at the time of the flash and would re-enter Earth's atmosphere during the night. The Ukrainian air force suggested the flash might have been a meteorite, but they were confident it had not been caused by a Russian air attack.
