International Powers Issue Warning to Iran Over Nuclear Materials

The United States and three European allies, known as the E3, have threatened Iran with another resolution at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board, demanding action on issues such as explaining uranium traces found at undeclared sites. However, they have not specified when or if they will follow through with the resolution. The warning comes amidst secret U.S.-Iran talks, complicating the West's standoff with Iran. While Western powers have criticized Iran for stonewalling the IAEA and enriching uranium to high levels, the United States has reportedly engaged in secret "de-escalation" talks with Iran. The Western powers issued a non-binding joint statement with 59 other countries, calling on Iran to address the issues, instead of seeking a binding resolution at the IAEA board meeting.
