BRICS Expansion: China's Xi Injects Fresh Vitality

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the expansion of the BRICS group, inviting six countries - Argentina, Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates - to join. Xi stated that this expansion would inject new vitality into the group's cooperation mechanism and serve the common interests of emerging markets and developing countries. He also announced the launch of a $10 billion special fund aimed at bolstering global development, as part of China's Global Development Initiative (GDI). Xi emphasized China's commitment to being a member of the developing world and expressed the intention to strengthen cooperation with African countries.
