Tunisians under state-ordered water rationing amidst severe drought.

Tunisia is experiencing its worst drought in five years, with water levels at almost all of its 30-plus dams falling drastically. The government has ordered its population to ration their water usage from April to September or risk fines or jail. Potable water is forbidden for irrigation of farmlands, watering green areas in cities, and cleaning streets and cars. The order applies to all regions connected to the state-owned water distribution system but does not include rural areas that get their water from wells or other local sources.
